Charity Campaign “Under the flag of Kindness” collects 2,877,549 roubles for treatment of ill children

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation regularly supports the activities of the national charity campaign “Under the flag of Kindness” and is one of its permanent partners.

On November 20, 2010 two teams of famous public and sports personalities played the traditional football match “Under the flag of Kindness” at Sokolniki Arena. This year, the teams were made up of politicians, pop stars and athletes from Russia and the Czech Republic, as well as young hockey players from sports schools in Moscow and Prague. The game ended in victory for the Russian team, with a score of 7:6.

In an official ceremony after the game, the young spectators, residents of Moscow orphanages and other children in need of urgent medical care, received named certificates for costly medical treatments. The targeted assistance is provided in collaboration with Russian state healthcare authorities. Additionally, the match collected 50,690 Roubles in voluntary donations.

The Russian team consisted of Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich, CEO of Gazprom Export Alexander Medvedev, Senior Presidential Advisor Yaroslav Shabanov, Chairman of the Russian Pension Fund Anton Drozdov, film director Yuri Korolev, hockey players Igor Boldin, Vitaly Prokhorov, Viktor Shalimov, Andrei Sapozhnikov, Michael Vishnevetsky, Oleg Bratash, Alexei Tkachuk, Oleg Sysuev and Alexei Parfenenko, artists Igor Butman, Igor Ugolnikov, Ilya Averbukh, Marat Basharov, Sergei Krestovskiy, and young athletes from the children’s sports school Spartak (Moscow).

The Czech team was represented by the country’s former Prime Minister, the former President of the European Council Mirek Topolanek, the former Governor and Czech Minister for Transport Petr Bendl, Senator Peter Bratski, politician Wojtek Chabi, press officer of the Czech President Martin Erwa, sports commentators Jiri Madl and Jiri Holzel, hockey players Michael Zapletal, Milan Tichy, Joseph Reznichek, Paul Richter, Peter Briza, Jiri Zelenka, Jiri Hrdina, Adam Shaffer, actors Martin Deidara, Sagvan Tofi, David Suharzhipa, and young students of the hockey school Dukla (Prague).

The celebration of sport and goodness culminated in a joint concert featuring Russian and Czech pop-stars.

The Family of Russia Award

The 2009 public recognition award, Family of Russia, was supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
