Master Classes by Famous Russian Flautist Olga Ivusheykova in Orenburg region

20 November 2015

Flautist, Olga Ivusheykova, winner of national and international competitions, assistant professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, arranged master classes at music institutions in the East Orenburg region. The classes were held as part of the Class from a Maestro project of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.

On November 17, 2015 the outstanding musician met pupils of Novotroitsk Children’s Music School, and a day later, November 18, young talents at Art College of Orsk were given classes in the mastery of the flute.

Olga Ivusheykova’s basic triple teaching method consists of a respectful, patient and individual approach. Therefore, conversation with each participant was personal and professional.

Children got acquainted with the rules of three-phase breathing, mastered modern techniques of flute playing, learned principles of creating an emotional impact on the audience (facial expressions, body movements, freedom of hands, mood) and discovered the secret of transforming of a small sound into a big one. They clearly met the requirements of the maestro, and with every breath the sounds of their flutes acquired new colour, and novice musicians became self-confident.

Valuable advice from the well-known Russian flautist was given to the teachers: learn the method of Frederick Matthias Alexander, adopt his motion exercises, which help people use their bodies properly and use their muscles harmoniously.

Olga Ivusheykova said: “I’m really enthusiastic and grateful to be a part of this project. For me each new meeting has always been a unique experience, the joy of communicating and sharing knowledge, a vortex of new thrills and positive emotions. And no matter how intense my work schedule is; I will find time for these master classes and charity concerts organised by the foundation”.

In the evening of November 17 the students and teachers of music schools of the Orenburg region came to listen to Olga Ivusheykova playing the flute at the Art College of Orsk. Music of Mozart, Kirnberger, Donizetti and other great composers was performed for them.
