Series of Lectures by American Political Scientist, Robert Legvold, held at Moscow State Institute of International Relations

From 1 September until 21 November 2015 MGIMO University hosted a course by Robert Legvold, a political and international relations expert and emeritus professor from Columbia University. The course was organised with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.

Young teachers, students in master’s programmes and graduate students at Moscow State Institute of International Relations and at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (USA) were participants in the course. One of the main subjects of the discussions held during the course was trends in the development of Russian-American relations in the Euro-Atlantic and the Asia-Pacific regions.

Communications with the professor took place in in the form of webinars, including both general conversations with the course’s audience and individual consultations for graduate students at MGIMO concerning their research activities.

Furthermore, Robert Legvold gave a speech addressing some Russian government officials, participants in the professional development programme, International Security Issues.

Robert Legvold also took part in the 9th Convention of Russian Association for International Studies, paying great attention to live communications with his Russian colleagues.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation is a regular partner to Moscow State Institute of International Relations and provides the full support to the University. The internationalization and the development of the University’s educational programmes is one of the most important areas of the cooperation.

The 10th Anniversary Festival of Science NAUKA 0+, the most important festival of science in the country, was held in Moscow from October 9 to 11, 2015 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. It broke the records of the previous years attracting 830,000 people this time.
