Results of National Programme "Active Children — Olympic Hopes"

The national programme „Active Children — Olympic Hopes”, set up by the Children Sports Fund in cooperation with the Russian Olympic Committee and receiving the financial support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation finished 2015 with a plus sign in all its activities.

This season, 11 new regions of the Central Federal District joined the programme. Opening ceremonies took place in Belgorod, Lipetsk, Kursk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Smolensk, Kostroma, Tver, Vladimir, Ryazan and Bryansk regions.

Over 12 months since January 2015, the School Health Index website (ИЗШ.РФ) designed for self-assessment of a school’s health environment status, was visited by some 10 000 schools from all over Russia.

30 active mentors — P.E. teachers, who successfully pass on their experiences working in the programme to colleagues in the regions and their personal achievements on ИЗШ.РФ — were trained to work with the programme’s innovative tools in the city of Sochi.

In 2015 the second version of the mobile app „Aktiplay” was tested. The test group consisted of 1000 pupils from grade 3 to 5, who competed to get into the list of the most active children during the game period. All in all the participants of the test registered more than 3 million minutes of walking, jogging, training in sports clubs, playing games. The Leaders Awards Ceremonies were attended by the two-time champion of Russia, European Athletics Indoor Champion in women’s 1500 metres Anna Alminova and players of CSKA basketball club, Vyacheslav Kravtsov and Anton Astapkovich.

The „Active Children — Olympic Hopes” programme was established in 2013 by the Children Sports Fund under the patronage of the Russian Olympic Committee so as to create active environments at secondary schools, to provide students with a culture of healthy living and to integrate physical activity into the everyday lives of young Russians.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation was a partner of the program in 2014 and 2015.

On September 5, 2015 meeting took place between Ilya Byakin, the Olympic hockey champion, three-time world champion, honoured master of sports of the USSR and young athletes of Zheleznogorsk at the city’s Yubileyniy Ice Rink. Children’s football tournament "Generation-2018"

On 13 and 14 January 2015, a children’s football tournament was held in the St. Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex. The competition was attended by children from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region’s children’s homes, students from regular schools in the nation’s northern capital, as well as the city’s Youth Sports School Teams.
