АRT-OKNO ON AIR in Gubkin Timed to Day of Metallurgist
On July 14, the Gubkin Old Park turned into a large open-air carnival. Several dozens of cartoon characters of the “Soyuzmultfilm” studio were the main characters at the ART-OKNO ON AIR city festival. The holiday began at 11.00 with a colorful parade of cartoon characters created by the film studio, creative teams of Gubkin, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, and of course, residents of Gubkin. The artists danced, sang funny songs from cartoons, gave cardboard crowns and balloons to citizens. At 12 o’clock, the column arrived at the Old Park, where the day program of the holiday took place.
Various entertaining workshops began their work simultaneously at several sites. Young residents of Gubkin together with their parents floated in the pond radio-controlled models of civil and military ships created by hands of children from the ship-modelling club of the Young Technicians Station. Everyone could try on the uniform of a 14th century European equestrian knight or a Russian soldier and take pictures in brilliant armour provided by the “Rarog” historical fencing and role-modelling club. It is noteworthy that the full set of armour weighed about 25 kg.
Exciting performances were also held at the extreme sports ground. Demonstration performances and express courses of skateboarding, football freestyle, roller skating and BMX (bicycle moto extreme) were conducted there.
Table hockey competitions were also conducted nearby. One of the winners of the championship, who won five prizes at once in mini-matches, was the mechanic of the mechanical repair department of Lebedinskiy Mining and Processing Plant Pavel Karpeshkin.
On a neighbouring lawn, families competed in the “Fun Runs”. Teams of parents and children were pulling the rope, wearing large sneakers, they tried to guide a ball through plastic cones, competed in skiing in five-man “skis”, fell, got up and ran again. In the dance pavillion, the citizens could not only see the performances of creative teams, but also enjoy themselves dancing Latin American dances, Zumba fitness, and jazz-funk.
Participants of all competitions received coupons, which were summed up in the evening to determine for the most active guest of the holiday. The main prize was a family excursion to the famous film studio “Soyuzmultfilm”.
Modern full-length “Soyuzmultfilm” cartoons were demonstrated all day at the Children’s Art Center “Yuniy Gubkinets”.
Interactive entertainment activities were arranged on the main stage in the park. Residents of Gubkin were the first to see the new “Soyuzmultfilm” projects — performances with the characters created by the film studio. The scientific and entertainment show “Physics of Impossible” and a workshop by Taras Stanin, the beatbox champion of Russia, were also held here.
The culmination of the day program was the performance of flyboardists from Voronezh and Nizhniy Novgorod, demonstrated in the city park. On a special board set in motion by the reactive power of the water flow, athletes performed incredibly complicated figures at a height of 15 meters above the water.
In the evening, the activities of the ART-OKNO ON AIR festival were transferred to the main stage of the “Forum” Central Concert Hall. The final competition for selection of the most active guest of the holiday was held there. The winner was the family of Anastasiya Sharpilo. In the autumn, Anastasiya and her family will go to the “Soyuzmultfilm” studio in Moscow, where a special program has already been prepared for them.
After the official speeches of A.A. Kretov, the Mayor of Gubkin, Oleg Mikhailov, the Managing Director of Lebedinskiy Mining and Processing Plant, Maryiana Zolina, the director of the ART-OKNO festival, and Olga Gerlinskaya, the manager of special programs of the “Soyuzmultfilm” studio, opened the evening program.
The “Korni” band and singer Gluk’oZa performed their songs for the residents and guests of the city to get them into the holiday spirit. The finishing note of the holiday was wonderful fireworks.
