“Legends of Russian Hockey” Charity Event

On November 18, 2013 the Russian Union of Athletes and the “Heroes of the Fatherland” Veterans Committee, supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation held a charity event called “Legends of Russian Hockey”.

The event was aimed at strengthening the morale of the Russian ice hockey team in the wake of the 2014 Sochi XXII Olympic Winter Games.

During the event, the legends of Soviet and Russian ice hockey drew up a letter for the current Russian national Olympic team, which was presented to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation President ,Vladislav Tretiak. “The whole country will be supporting you and thinking of you! Back in our time, we did everything we could to win, we brought glory the USSR, our people and our sport. Today, do not let Russia down, boys! We are behind you and we are with you!”- wrote the Russian veterans in their inspiring letter to the team.

Russia Triumphs at the Closure of the 2nd World Combat Games

On October 18-26, 2013, St. Petersburg played host to the 2nd World Combat Games. The competition was attended by over 2,000 athletes from 108 countries. The Games united 15 kinds of sport: aikido, boxing, wrestling, judo, jujitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, Thai boxing, savate, sambo, sumo, taekwondo, wushu and fencing.
