VI Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum was supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation was an official partner of the VI Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum that took place from the 16th to 18th of November 2017.

The Forum is developed in 2 directions: professional and social and three streams. A wide business programme is interesting to specialists from different art areas. The business programme consists of 14 sections, each directed and moderated by national culture representatives, who develop the agenda and discussion topics for a respective section. The business platform creates conditions to discuss the projects and sign agreements in the field of art and culture. The festive part of the Forum includes a variety of cultural and art events organised for citizens and guests of Saint Petersburg.

Inclusion was one of the key topics of the VI Saint Petersburg international Cultural Forum where a number of sessions was devoted to it. Inclusion is sees as a set of methods to create barrier-free cultural environment for people with disabilities. A number of such inclusive initiatives belongs to the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.

In particular, the discussion “A window to culture: the role of information in the development of the inclusive environment” was held as a part of the business programme of the Cultural Forum in the Russian Ethnographic museum. The discussion was organised by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation and the TASS news agency. The deaf-blind support foundation “Con-nection” and the British Council were the partners of the event. The participants discussed key topics, among those are the implementation of audio description and subtitles in theatre and cinema; organisation of trainings for theatre employees who work with people with disabilities; organisation of inclusive workshops and many others.

Moreover, representatives of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation participated in a panel session focused on the creation of opportunities for people with disabilities to enable them take part in the cultural life of the society. The panel was organised by the President’s Committee for People with Disabilities.

The awards “Philantropist of the Year” for the significant contributions to the support of cultural projects and the Award of Anatoly Lunacharsky, a unique award, granted to representatives of culture working in non-art field were handed in during the Forum as well.
