Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation has supported House of Russia activities during the FIFA World Cup 2014

09 July 2014

For a month from June 12 to July 13, during the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, with support from the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, the House of Russia — Casa da Russia — was opened. It has become a central venue of hospitality for Russian and foreign football fans and, most importantly, a unique platform to promote the image of our country ahead of the World Cup 2018, which the Russian Federation will host for the first time in its history.

The House of Russia has been located on the site of the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most picturesque places in the city center, in Flamengo Park on the shore of Guanabara Bay.

An extensive program was prepared for guests: an introduction to Russia’s cultural traits and the new concepts for the 2018 World Cup, broadcasts of the 2014 World Cup, exhibitions, round tables, quizzes, and autograph sessions, featuring international football stars.

Many popular artists, actors, athletes and politicians attended the House of Russia.

For VIPs, journalists and FIFA officials the organizers of the House of Russia project prepared a number of press conferences and presentations from the Organizing Committee of Russia-2018, days of Russian culture and presentations on the key Russian cities preparing to host the 2018 World Cup.

Also the first international presentation of the bidding concept for UEFA EURO-2020 in St. Petersburg was shown in the House of Russia.

The House of Russia became a favourite business and leisure destination for Russian and foreign journalists during the World Cup 2014. A specially equipped press centre that functions on a daily basis has been arranged for them.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation has been supporting organizational activities relating to the upcoming championship from the very beginning. Moreover, in 2009, the Foundation became a partner of the Bid Committee, which fought for the right of our country to host the most famous sports tournament on the planet.
