The Family of Russia Award

29 June 2009

The 2009 public recognition award, Family of Russia, was supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The award ceremony took place on June 27, at the Peter Hall in the Grand Kremlin Palace, a clear emphasis on the significance the Russian government attaches to family. This year, 14 families from across Russia were recognised for their extraordinary achievements in areas of social significance and public benefit. For some of them, the award ceremony coincided with their first, unforgettable visit to Russia’s vibrant metropolitan capital Moscow.

The Family of Russia Award of public recognition was launched in 2005. It is aimed at strengthening the family institution in Russia, and providing general social and targeted support to families across Russia.

The President of Russia declared 2009 to be the Year of the Youth. Therefore, this year the award was especially dedicated to young families; this special part of our society, responsible for its renewal and for the preservation of parenting traditions.

Alla Kuzmina, President of the Family of Russia Foundation, expressed her special gratitude and appreciation for the help provided by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation in organising the Award Ceremony.
