First results in from the “A Future with Confidence” project – 10 best participants receive gifts and awards

02 April 2014

In March 2014 the intermediary results of the online project for social adaptation “A Future with Confidence” were published. The project was launched by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation in December 2013. By early 2014 it had already been adopted by 10 care institutions across 5 Russian regions.

The purpose of the project is to provide orphans, pupils of special care and special residential schools, as well as home-schooled children with various disabilities the chance to acquire the skills necessary for a professional career and personal fulfilment. The classes are held in the webinar format — online lectures and master classes where a lecturer or a tutor is broadcast live, connecting to the pupils through live chat and using virtual board for communication and assignments.

After the first three months, the most keen and active webinar participants have been: Natalia Bruntseva (Lipetsk Residential School), Aliona Solovieva (Vologda Children’s Home No. 1), Kirill Filatov (Distance Learning Centre, Lipetsk), Anastasia Vorobieva (Vologda Children’s Home No. 2), Victor Rusu and Karina Raskopina (Naryshkino Residential School, Orel Region), Andrei Pryazhnikov of SOS Youth House No.1 in Orel, and finally, Kristina Alyabina, Svetlana Matveeva and Viktoria Shirokolav of Lyudinovo Residential School in the region of Kaluga. These star-students received prizes — cameras and wrist watches.

In April 2014 the final results will be drawn: the best pupils will spend two days of their summer holidays on a sightseeing visit to St. Petersburg.
