New Year’s Theatre Performance at the Lyudinovo Residential School

16 December 2013

On 13 December 2013, at the Lyudinovo Residential School for Orphaned Children with Special Educational Needs, the Creative Studio “Ya” put on a New Year’s play called “New Year’s Shine”. The celebration was held in the new concert hall of the school, recently renovated with support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The production was an interpretation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Rumpelstiltskin. After the play, all the children received New Year presents from the Foundation.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation has been collaborating with Lyudinovo Residential School since 2011. In 2013, the Foundation sponsored the renovation and refurbishment of the School’s assembly hall, the equipping of the computer lab with new hardware, and acquired a comfortable bus for excursions and for taking pupils to medical institutions. The Foundation also supplies teaching materials to the school. In 2014, the institution will join the Distance Learning Program “A Future with Confidence”.

“As part of our Assistance Programme for Children’s Social Services Institutions, the Foundation concentrates on the infrastructure issues at its sponsored institutions. However, the emotional care is of no less importance to us. Every child needs celebrations and holidays. We sincerely hope that the kids liked the play and the presents!” — commented Maria Krasnikova, Director of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
