New Year Party for Pupils from Social Care Institutions in Kursk Region

On 18 December 2015, a New Year event was held for orphans and children with disabilities in Mikhailovsky GOK Centre of Culture and Technology in Zheleznogorsk.

The New Year Carnival interactive show and musical performance was brought to the young viewers of Kursk Region by the Union of Creative Young People, a Moscow theatre troupe, and was organised by The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.

The main guests at the event were pupils from 10 social care institutions. They included 5 residential schools: Verkhniy Lyubazh, Dmitriev, Ivanovo, Kursk Residential school No. 2, Kursk Residential School for Deaf Children; 2 orphanages: Kursk and Novoandrosovo; and Kursk Residential School No.1, Zheleznogorsk School for Children with Special Educational Needs and Zvezdochka Preschool Centre for Child Development.

The doors to the magic were opened by entertainers dressed as famous fairy tale characters. Prior to the performance the children had active games awaiting them, face-paints, balloons figures, and after the New Year Carnival — Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, songs, poems, dancing around the tree, photos and, of course, gifts.

On 4 December, a similar performance was held in the Crystal Sports Centre in Gubkin city, which opened the traditional children’s Christmas programme of activities organised by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The Foundation presented the young viewers of the Belgorod region with The Nutcracker, a show on ice.
