Novotroitsk Officially Welcomes the Paralympic Champion Pavel Poltavtsev

02 November 2012

On 12 September 2012 the new Paralympic Champion, Pavel Poltavtsev, proudly returned to his home-town of Novotroitsk.

The Paralympic swimmer brought three medals home from London — gold, silver and bronze. His coach, Olga Baydalova, was also welcomed with honour by the Governor of the Orenburg Region, as well as by the Novotroitsk Town Administration, heads of local businesses, the media and, of course, friends and sports colleagues.

Pavel Poltavtsev became the first Paralympic Champion from the Orenburg Region. In an interview to one of the local papers, he expressed hope that his example will bring new impetus towards healthy living and involvement in sports for the people with disabilities, and he, for his part, will try to give this cause his fullest contribution.

The team of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation also congratulated Pavel on his glorious victories.
