Russia to host FIFA World Cup 2018!

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, a partner of the Russia 2018/2022 World Cup Bid Committee congratulates all Russians on the honour of having won the right to host the most famous sports tournament on the planet, the FIFA World Cup!

In Zurich, December 2, 2010, members of the FIFA Executive Committee chose Russia as the host country of the 2018 World Cup. This will be the first time the World Cup will be held in Russia. The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation supported the preparation of the Bid Presentation and the Bid Book.

“I think it is important for Russia to host the World Cup; a sporting event of this level will enhance the prestige of the country, give impetus to develop Russian football, and, most importantly, help attract young people to sport,” said the Founder of the Charity Foundation, Alisher Usmanov.

On 1-2 February 2017, the 28th Olympic scientific congress of young scientists and students from Russia: Olympism, the Olympic Movement, and the Olympic Games was held with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation at the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism. The scientific congress was organized by the Olympic Committee of Russia and the Central Olympic Academy.
