Tour of Invisible Plays Takes Place in 10 Regions of Russia in 2015

On 24 November 2015 the final event of a large theatre tour took place, organised by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation as part of the Support Programme for Visually Impaired Children. This time the pupils of the Kostroma Region Residential School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children got to know Carl, the brave, young main character of Wolke, a unique play performed by Bulgakov House Museum and Theatre.

People with vision impairments of varying severity and medical cause have the opportunity to go on a specially adapted tour of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, which this autumn opened the first department in Russia for inclusive programmes. The aim is to ensure the availability of museums for visitors with disabilities.

Unique Invisible Play Performed for Blind and Visually Impaired Children from Foundation-Sponsored Institutions

In the period from February 25 to April 16, 2015, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation arranged actors from the Bulgakov House Museum and Theatre to come and perform for blind and visually impaired children. The tour came under the framework of the Foundation’s Support Programme for Visually Impaired Children, in the spirit of this, a special play called Wolke for people with blindness was performed for the children.

The book Kids in a Cage by Samuil Marshak, published by the Illustrated Books for Blind Children Foundation with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, was chosen for the 2015 IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) collection of Books for Young People with Disabilities.
