“A Future with Confidence” Project meets for its 7th offline meeting

21 March 2017

From 6 to 19 March 2017, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation organized another offline meeting for pupils of children’s social services institutions participating in the “A Future with Confidence” project.

93 of the most active participants of the project took part in the “Check-in Live” meeting, which was held, as before, at the SMENA All-Russian children’s centre in Anapa. Participants came from the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orenburg, and Ryazan regions, as well as the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The two-week program of the camp included team trainings, instructional courses on debating, public speaking, and strategic planning, role games, and sports activities. The Foundation’s partner for the educational events in the program was the ‘Progress’ All-Russian School of Personal Growth and the Development of Student Self-Government.

As part of the camp’s program, the children met with the theatre and film actress and popular blogger Irina Gorbacheva. “It’s important for me to be here at this moment, and to talk to the kids, share my experience, and hear them out,” said Irina Gorbacheva about her participation in the project. She told the participants to never be afraid of anything, and to always move forward without stopping.

Additionally, the program that was created for the children included lectures by Denis Ismakov, a prominent business-coach specializing in personal efficiency, as well as master-classes about image creation with the participation of students from the Anapa Industrial Technical College.

The culmination of the “Check-in Live” meeting was the creation of videos dedicated to different social issues, as well as a documentary short film titled ‘Skit’, dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia. Immersion into the film-making process and learning about the characteristics of cinematographic art were supervised by the director Nikita Vlasov and VGIK students Polina and Sofia Naboka.

“A Future with Confidence” project was created by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation with the goal of helping the social adjustment of teenagers who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Currently, the project serves more than 250 children from 24 social services institutions in 13 regions of the Russian Federation. In 2016, “A Future with Confidence” was presented with the “Best Social Projects in Russia” award at the event’s 4th annual ceremony.
