Schools of Voronezh and Orenburg regions presented with special equipment for blind and visually impaired children

25 May 2015

In the spring of 2015, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation provided new equipment to two specialised institutions in Voronezh and Orenburg within the framework of the Support Programme for Visually Impaired Children.

For example, Voronezh Residential School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children № 3 acquired a new electronic manual video magnifier, the ERVU Snow 7 HD, which is a great assistant to those with vision problems. It makes it possible to comfortably read on-screen books, newspapers, manuals, letters, bills, magazines, etc., as well as write and draw with a pencil or a pen. The device is equipped with textured control buttons, a mode selector switch for close and remote camera, still image functions and other additional options.

A device for printing textured graphics was bought for Orenburg Residential School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children No. 2. It allows pupils to create and print touchable drawings, charts, maps and provides an opportunity for visually impaired and blind users to obtain information normally unavailable to them.

Regular updating of educational and medical-diagnostic processes is one of the priorities of this Programme initiated by the Foundation to support child care centres specializing in the treatment of visual disorders.
