Treatment and diagnostic process modernized at Zvezdochka Child development Centre in Zheleznogorsk

Within the framework of the Support Program for Visually Impaired Children, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation has offered assistance to the Zvezdochka Municipal preschool Centre for Child development — Kindergarten #8 in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region, by installing vision correction rooms.

More than 10 units of special-purpose devices, software and apparatus were acquired: ТВО-1 („Light feather”) apparatus for „eye-hand” coordination training, the Mirage device for binocular vision training, SPEKL-M laser apparatus and an AMO — ATOS magnetotherapy device with Amblio-1 attachment, SAKKADA muscle-coach, SINF-1 sinoptofor, kit for MOZAYKA pattern-stimulation, and others.

This new ophthalmology equipment will help children solve problems relating to amblyopia, strabismus, astigmatism and other eye diseases. The modernization of the treatment and diagnostic process will also allow the institution to work more efficiently in the following directions: recovering binocular vision, post-op rehabilitation, oculomotorius muscle training and prevention of other vision disorders.

Unique Invisible Play Performed for Blind and Visually Impaired Children from Foundation-Sponsored Institutions

In the period from February 25 to April 16, 2015, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation arranged actors from the Bulgakov House Museum and Theatre to come and perform for blind and visually impaired children. The tour came under the framework of the Foundation’s Support Programme for Visually Impaired Children, in the spirit of this, a special play called Wolke for people with blindness was performed for the children.
