6 апреля 2017 года, в преддверии 80-летия со дня рождения Беллы Ахатовны Ахмадулиной, в Музее современного искусства «Гараж» прошел поэтический вечер-посвящение «Таинственной лестницы взлет». Мероприятие было инициировано Академическим Малым драматическим театром — Театром Европы под руководством Льва Додина и организовано при поддержке Благотворительного фонда «Искусство, наука и спорт».
Performances were held between 18 November and 9 December 2016, as part of the traditional children’s New Year’s entertainment programme of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. This year, the Golden Mask Festival participated as the partner of the programme. Young viewers from the Moscow, Kursk, and Belgorod regions were able to see plays performed by the St. Petersburg Puppet Doll’s House Theatre and the Novosibirsk Youth Academic Theatre Globus.
On 2 December 2016, a poetry evening was held by the Kinopoeziya (Filmed Poetry) educational project at the St. Petersburg Ethnographic Museum with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The event was held as part of the V St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
From 25 November 2016 to 19 February 2017, the ‘ROMA AETERNA. Masterpieces of the Vatican Pinacotheca. Bellini, Raphael, Caravaggio’ exhibition is on display at the State Tretyakov Gallery. This exhibition was made possible with the financial support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The Italian city of Cremona — the world capital of violin making — hosted the Stradivari Music Festival from 24 September to 9 October 2016 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The main venue was the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium, located inside the Violin Museum, which holds a collection of valuable musical instruments crafted by Amati, Stradivari and Guarneri.
Paradise, a film directed by Andrey Konchalovsky, has won the Silver Lion Award for Best Director at the Venice International Film Festival. The film was supported by The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The new film After You, directed by Anna Matison, was screened at the International Film Festival “East & West. Classic and Avant-Garde” with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation on 1 September 2016 in Orenburg. The film was presented by its general producer and lead actor, Sergey Bezrukov.
On 28 August 2016, with support from the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, the film and theatre actor Artur Smolyaninov introduced the new educational and enlightenment project Kinopoeziya (‘Filmed Poetry’) in Orenburg.
On June 28 and 29, the Moscow Sovremennik theatre led by director Galina Volchek — with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation — went on a tour to the cities of Orsk and Novotroitsk.
The Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe (MDT) directed by Lev Dodin performed its play, Mumu, in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region on June 3, 2016. Two days after, the play was seen by an audience in Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region. The theatre tour was arranged with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The 15th Moscow Easter Festival took place from 1 May to 17 May 2016 with the support of the Government of Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The Moscow Sovremennik Theatre, under the guidance of legendary theatre director, Galina Volchek, toured the regions of Kursk and Belgorod between 21–24 April 2016 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, presenting their performance of Lyudmila Ulitskaya’s play “Let’s Dance...”
The Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe presented its performance Hamlet produced with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation 10 April 2016. The production was directed by People’s Artist of Russia Lev Dodin, MDT Artistic Director.
For the second consecutive year the communities of Belgorod and Kursk regions were given the opportunity to enjoy performances by the legendary Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance, organised with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
On 23 December 2015, art critic and culture expert Irina Kulik gave the closing lecture to her legendary series of talks, “Asymmetrical Similarities”, in the Educational Centre at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. The event concluded a joint programme of activities between the Museum and the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation in 2015.
In the autumn of 2015, The Sovremennik Theatre presented its audience with The Decameron. The play was staged with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, and was the first premiere of the Sovremennik’s 60th theatrical season.
October 15, 2015 was the day of the grand ceremony in the centre of Moscow for the inauguration of a monument to the famous French architect Le Corbusier. The event was one of a series of events organised for an International Specialized Exhibition on conservation, restoration, use and promotion of cultural heritage “denkmal, Moscow”.
On September 27, 2015, with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance performed at the World Universal Exposition (EXPO) 2015 in Milan.
The Mariinsky Theatre has hosted the 23rd Stars of The White Nights Music Festival with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation from May 27 to August 2, 2015 in St. Petersburg. This is an annual summer parade of musical events, attracting the attention of all kinds of fans of classical music, opera and ballet.
The Academic Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe, under direction of Lev Dodin, performed Uncle Vanya to audiences in the region of Orenburg. The play has been awarded the Golden Soffit Theatre Award, Golden Mask National Theatre Award (Best Director — L. Dodin, Best Actor — S. Kuryshev) and the Association of Italian Theatre Critics’ Award.
From June 25 to 28, 2015, the cities of Belgorod and Kursk regions hosted the tour of Moscow Sovremennik Theater under the direction of the legendary theatre director, Galina Volchek. This event was made possible with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
On June 24, 2015, a concert of Renzo Arbore’s legendary L’Orchestra Italiana was held at the National Kremlin Palace to promote the Expo 2015 Universal Exhibition in Milan. The concert was organised by the Embassy of Italy in Moscow with the financial backing of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
A ceremony was held at the Museum of the Surrender (Musée de la Reddition, Reims, France) on June 19, 2015. The monument was donated to the museum by the Russian Military-Historical Society; and was created on the initiative of the “Rossotrudnichestvo” Federal Agency, with the financial support of the Art, Science and Sport Foundation. The event was held as a part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory over fascism in Europe.
On June 14, 2015 the Academic Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe directed by Lev Dodin with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation performed Uncle Vanya in Gubkin, in the region of Belgorod. Their performance of the play has already received the Golden Sofit Theatre Award, Golden Mask National Theatre Award (Best Director — L. Dodin, Best Actor — S. Kuryshev) and the Association of Italian Theatre Critics’ Award.
On June 13 and 15, 2015 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation the Academic Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe directed by Lev Dodin performed Three Sisters in cities in the regions of Belgorod and Kursk. Their performance has received the Golden Soffit Theatre Award and the K.S. Stanislavski Award in the „Event of the Season” category (2010/2011).
The 14th Moscow Easter Festival, supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, was held between April 12th and May 9th. The Festival was extensive in both its geographic scope and the number of excellent musical events. It commemorated two crucial dates in the history of the world and musical culture: the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II and the 175th birthday of the great Russian composer, Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
In March, 2015, with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, tours of the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance were organized for cities in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
With the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance, known worldwide as the Igor Moiseyev Ballet, made its first appearance in front of audiences in the East Orenburg region.
The premiere of a new Italian-Russian performance, “Oedipus at Colonus”, directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, was staged on October 17 and 18 in Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, Italy, with the support of The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The grand opening of the Orsk State A.S. Pushkin Drama Theatre was held on September 4, 2014. The walls were the only structures that survived the buildings’ reconstruction. Today it is a modern, beautiful building, comparable with the best theatres in the country in terms of technology, interior quality and level of comfort.
From May 28 to July 31, 2014 the 22nd “Stars of the White Nights” Music Festival organised by Valery Gergiev was held in St. Petersburg on seven different stages at the Mariinsky Theatre with the support of The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
On July 16 and 17, 2014 with the assistance of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, the legendary Moscow Sovremennik Theatre, led by Artistic Director, Galina Volchek, toured the city of Novotroitsk for the first time in its history. The Moscow theatre put on two showings of the play, Five Evenings, for Novotroitsk’s viewers.
With the support of the Foundation, from 14 to 16 of July, the Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe, under the direction of Lev Dodin, performed their award winning play Intrigue and Love in cities across the Belgorod and Kursk regions. The play won the Golden Mask Award for the best dramatic performance in 2014 and the Golden Soffit Award for the best director. This tour took place thanks to the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
In spring 2014, the St. Petersburg Academic Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe (MDT) performed their premiere of the Cherry Orchard. The scenic composition and staging were undertaken by People’s Artist of Russia, winner of numerous state prizes, famous theatre director and MDT Artistic Director, Lev Dodin. The play was put on with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The 13th Moscow Easter Festival was held from April 20 to May 9 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. Traditionally, it includes symphonic, choral, chamber music programmes and bell-ringing week. This year the festival broke all its previous records in terms of the programme’s scope, its attendance and geographic coverage.
On May 10, 2014 the Moscow ensemble of young violinists with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation demonstrated its skills at “Mozart-Prague”, the 9th International competition of choral and instrumental ensembles, and took home the main award!
The Mossovet State Academic Theatre of Moscow successfully brought its interpretations of Anton Chekhov’s plays to Wyndham’s Theatre from 23 April to 3 May in the framework of the UK-Russia Year of Culture with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Foundation.
The “Podsnezhnik” classical dance ensemble based in Novotroitsk has brought home the Grand Prix from the Festival de Musica y Danza International Competition held from April 26 to May 3, 2014 in the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation is a partner of the Mariinsky Theatre and supports many of its projects. Among them was the recent Mstislav Rostropovich Music Festival, which took place in Samara on 4-5 December 2013, as well as a concert by the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra directed by Valery Gergiev at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, on 25 December 2013.
On 27 November, 2013, in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow: the Igor Moiseyev Ballet School and Studio celebrated its 70th anniversary with a grand gala concert, featuring performances across all age groups mentored by the Moiseyev Ballet from today’s Dance School to some of its brilliant alumni.
On November 21, 2013, the Moscow State Pushkin Museum officially revealed its new prized exhibit: St. Mark, by the Dutch master Frans Hals. The famous painting was presented to the Museum by Alisher Usmanov.
On November 2-9, 2013, the 13th “Kinotavrik” International Children’s Arts and Sports Festival took place in Sochi. In 2013, the Festival gathered more than a thousand representatives from the various regions of Russia, the CIS and other countries. The ages of participants ranged from 6 to 17 years.
On September 24, 2013, the Russian State Children’s Library in Moscow hosted the annual directors meeting of children’s and youth libraries. On this day, librarians from across the country discussed the issues of children’s reading and children’s literature, talking about the challenges and prospects in the sector.
“Artists of the Murzilka Magazine 1924-2013” art album, having been published with the assistance of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, won the Book of the Year 2013 national award, in the Art Books nomination category.
The Novotroitsk Youth Violin Ensemble, Sozvuchie, took part in the International “We Are the World” Festival — and came home with the main prize of the competition! This was one of the foreign trips of the youth orchestra sponsored by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
On June 21, 2013, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation donated a unique musical instrument to the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory — a grand piano manufactured by the Jakob Becker house in 1908.
On June 21, 2013, the P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory was presented with a sculptural portrait of one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century — Sviatoslav Richter — at an official ceremony in its Grand Hall in Moscow.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation has announced the opening of The “Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde” exhibition, which is taking place at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, starting from 11 June, through to 22 September 2013.
The Artistic Ensemble of Classical Dance “Podsnezhnik”, directed by Tatiana Shcherbakova, won the Grand Prix at the Danube Rainbow Festival, which was held from April 26 to May 7, 2013, in the largest cities of Hungary, Slovakia and Austria.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation responded to a request for assistance from the Ensemble, Sozvuchie. The Foundation granted support to the Novotroitsk youth violin ensemble to travel to and participate in the international Festival-Competition “Viva, Italy-Russia!”. The Festival was held on 13-20 July, 2012, in Rimini.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation provided support for the creation of a sculpture of the great Russian pianist, Sviatoslav Richter, as well as miniatures of the sculpture to be awarded to the prizewinners of the Sviatoslav Richter International Piano Competition.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation supported “Claviarium”, the International Youth Competition for Amateur Pianists, which this year gathered nearly 30 young amateur pianists (students and university tutors aged 18 to 35) from around the world. The competition was held from 14 to 19 May, 2011, in Moscow, in the Great Hall of the Concert Centre of the National Research University — Higher School of Economics.
In the city of Stary Oskol (Belgorod Region) a production of Brothers and Sisters was shown on 16 and 17 December and in Zheleznogorsk (Kursk Region) a play called The Snow Queen was performed on 19 December. “This is the theatre’s great creative mission; to demonstrate its best productions, such as Brothers and Sisters, not abroad but at home, in the small towns of Russia, such as Stary Oskol and Zheleznogorsk,” — said the Deputy Director of the theatre, Nelly Akhmadulina.
The Laurencia Ballet of St. Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky Theatre became one of three finalists of the UK National Dance Award 2010 in the field of classical dance. The ballet’s revival was supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation supported the revival of the Laurencia ballet, initiated by the Mikhailovsky Theatre in honour of the 100th anniversary of its creator, the great dancer and choreographer, Vakhtang Chabukiani.
