Supported by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, the culminating event of the 6th Russian National Festival of Science — the 11th Moscow Festival of Science — took place in Moscow from 7 to 9 October.
From 26th to 30th of September, 2016, the city of Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Region, which is one of the largest centers of chemical science and industry in Russia, hosted the international scientific forum, the XX Mendeleev Congress on General and Applied Chemistry. The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation was engaged as the event’s general partner.
A professor from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Higher School of Economics, Samuel Hutchinson, held a series of lectures in French at MGIMO University on the issues of competition law in December 2015. Master’s programme students studying the Law and students of the International Law Faculty attended the lectures.
From 1 September until 21 November 2015 MGIMO University hosted a course by Robert Legvold, a political and international relations expert and emeritus professor from Columbia University. The course was organised with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
On October 21, 2015, the grand opening of the interactive exhibition “Sketches of Science” was held in the GUM shopping centre. The exhibition was organized as part of the 5th annual Russian National Festival of Science NAUKA0+ with support from the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
The 10th Anniversary Festival of Science NAUKA 0+, the most important festival of science in the country, was held in Moscow from October 9 to 11, 2015 with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. It broke the records of the previous years attracting 830,000 people this time.
2014 was the 70-year anniversary of one of the leading Russian universities, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). The university’s anniversary was marked by a large-scale programme of activities sponsored by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation.
During October 10-12, 2014 a huge science holiday took place in Moscow — the 9th annual Moscow Festival of Science NAUKA 0+. This year the Festival broke several records: one in attendance by Muscovites — 810 000 — and another in number of volunteers — over 200.
A new archaeological exhibit for children has welcomed its first visitors in the Orsk Local Lore Museum in the summer of 2014. It is an interactive space with a cave equipped with a big sandbox where children can learn to search for ancient artefacts by themselves.
In Anapa, on 12 April 2014 the Federal Children’s Center “Smena” hosted the key event of the “IT-Start” programme; the closure of the National Speciality Camps for high school students, “Start IT” and “Robotics”, organised by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, with the support of the Art, Science, and Sport Charity Foundation.
On 27-28 March, 2014, a delegation from MGIMO University, sponsored by the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, attended the 55th Convention of the International Studies Association in Toronto, Canada.
On October 4-6, 2013 Kursk hosted the 3rd Russian National Festival of Science with support from the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation. The festival’s Central Regional Platform was set up at South-West State University.
Representatives of 63 countries participated in the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, which was held from 15 to 18 May 2013. Present at the event were 25 official delegations, headed by their countries’ ministers and deputy ministers, including from the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Egypt and Kazakhstan. Also in attendance at the Forum this year were over 2,500 lawyers, researchers, business and government representatives.
