The IT-Start Programme

As part of the IT-Start Programme, in 2014 the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, with the support of the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, started a number of projects aimed at engaging high school students in the field of scientific and technical creativity.

In the spring of 2014, six regions of Russia hosted a district Robotics Competition for high school students called “Hello, Robot!”. In April 2014, the Federal Children’s Recreation and Education Resort “Smena” accepted pupils who had achieved excellent results in the fields of IT and Robotics.

Extensive work was done over the summer, when more than 30 regions of the Russian Federation held specialised IT summer courses for high school students.

The courses were aimed at introducing teenagers to the industry, as well as helping them identify their place within the IT market and find the right path for scientific and technical creativity. The participants were expected to develop an interest in the learning process, and to obtain important practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation made it possible for over 10,000 high school students from all over Russia to participate in the IT-Start Programme in 2014.
