The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation is especially concerned about visually impaired children.
The tasks and objectives of the Support Programme are:
- to organise regular diagnostics and good-quality treatment of visually impaired children at institutions for orphans and children left without parental care;
- to create an accessible environment for them: modernise and adjust the institutions’ infrastructure to make it more accessible for blind and visually impaired children and adapt it to their particular needs;
- to supply these institutions with special learning materials and equipment adapted for visually impaired children.
As part of the Support Programme, the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation is collaborating with orphanages and specialised boarding schools in various parts of Russia. The participating institutions receive regular help from the Foundation to address issues with infrastructure, facilities, equipment, learning and other materials, as well as assistance in creating a barrier-free environment inside the institutions, modernisation of the teaching methods, organisation of recreation, diagnostics and treatment for the children.
The foundation also provides targeted assistance to children suffering from visual impairment who live and study in orphanage institutions that don’t specialise in care for children with ophthalmological problems.Photo
