The Volleyball Federation of Russia


The Volleyball Federation of Russia (VFR) was founded in 1991 and successfully carries out the tasks of developing and promoting volleyball in Russia. The goals and objectives of the Federation are to increase spectator interest in the game, to train new athletes, preparing them for the national teams, to improve the individual skills of volleyball players, as well as the quality of the class of teams, to assemble and support the strongest teams and encourage them to participate in the European Volleyball Confederation tournaments.

VFR holds the Russian Championship and the Cup of Russia, the Cup of Siberia and the Far East, the Russian Boys and Girls Championships, and Russia veterans’ competitions.

Today the fan following of volleyball is growing, there are numerous new clubs and volleyball-oriented sports centres around Russia. The junior division of this sport is also on the rise.

The Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation is a non-profit partner of the Volleyball Federation of Russia, and supports the Federation’s events.
